The National Cycle Network is a great way to find traffic-free routes and quiet lanes. Routes featured on the Sustrans website pass through Abingdon, Wallingford and Didcot.
The Oxford to Thame section of National Cycle Network, Route 57 is largely on country lanes. Thame to Princes Risborough follows the Phoenix Trail along the route of a disused railway.
Route 544 connects Didcot and the outskirts of Wantage. It is on quiet roads, byways and purpose built paths, offering a tranquil way to explore Southern Oxfordshire.
Route 5 begins in Reading and follows the northern half of the Thames Valley cycle route as it crosses the Chiltern Hills. It then passes through Wallingford, Didcot and Abingdon on the way to Oxford.

Discover this 40 mile route, mostly on quiet country lanes. Easy-going, but with a challenging climb up to White Horse Hill and a few lesser climbs around Coleshill. Suitable for regular cyclists.
This route plots day 28 of the '100 climbs' journey, 107 miles from Lechlade-on-Thames to Kings Langley, taking in the climbs of Combe Gibbet, Streatley Hill and Whiteleaf, as featured in Simon Warren’s book ‘100 Greatest Cycling Climbs’.
