Thame Midsomer Tours
Thame Walking Tours
In 2026, Midsomer guided walking tours of Thame will be held –
- Each Wednesday between 1st April and 28th October, beginning at 2pm
- Each Saturday between 6th June and 26th September, beginning at 2pm
The tour starts from outside Thame’s Town Hall, right in the centre of town and is hosted by one of seven volunteer guides, all knowledgeable about the locations and the episodes in which they were used.
The tour is filled with information about the show, its beginnings in 1997, the many actors who have appeared in it, the bizarre methods of murder that have been used and many anecdotes recounting highlights from the series. This year is the 29th anniversary of the launch of Midsomer Murders, so why not celebrate by doing the tour?
The tour covers the 23 Midsomer filming locations in Thame, one of the most-filmed locations, sometimes appearing as Causton, sometimes as one of the many picturesque villages in Midsomer County (aka Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire). One of seven knowledgeable guides will tell you about each location – including Thame Town Hall (aka Causton Town Hall) and Thame Museum. They are all enthusiastic experts, not only on Midsomer Murders locations, the actors, the bizarre methods of murder and much more, but on local history too. You will learn fascinating snippets about Thame’s history, from its ancient Neanderthal remains and through the centuries to the present day: one Midsomer filming location, the Prebendal, was home to the late Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees.
Tickets are £10 per person. Book online at ticketsource.co.uk/thamemidsomer or at Thame Town Hall Information Centre in person or by phone on 01844 212833 or at Thame Museum (during opening hours – check websites https://www.thamemuseum.org/, https://www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/)
