Join us for some family-friendly activities at Abingdon Museum! ‘Fossils Treasures’ – 10:30am to 3pm (FREE drop-in session)

The Oxfordshire Geology Trust will be at Abingdon Museum from 10:30am to 3pm presenting a huge diversity of fossils and minerals from all over the world! Visitors will have a chance to handle different specimens and have a go with the Fossil Lucky Dip.

Please feel free to bring your own fossils in for identification. Location: Sessions Gallery

ACAP Introduction – 10:30am to 3pm (FREE drop-in session) Meet local archaeologist Jeff Wallis and our volunteers and get actively involved in the preservation of our archaeology by signing up your interest and joining the Abingdon Community Archaeology Project. Location: Arcade – in front of the Museum Entrance

‘Abingdon Jurassic Reptiles’ – Talk at 2pm (Free but booking essential) Geologist and fossil hunter James Etienne will talk about his local finds of giant marine reptiles from the Kimmeridge Clay Formation and will display fragments of a Late Jurassic marine croc jaw from the Museum collection. Location: Kempster Room – Museum Basement Booking Essential as places are limited to 20 Please contact the Museum Reception to book.
